Twins!

Image
Hello Dear Friends We have been given a great gift of twin grandchildren. A boy named Harry and a girl named Grace. That meant than Nanny had to get busy! 2 baby blankets and 2 cardigans later. I would like to show you Harry and Grace wearing the cardigans and wrapped in the blankets but unfortunately circumstances don't allow.                                                             Q P  by Rhonda

Thomas the Tank Engine for Theodore

Image
Hello Dear Friends Theodore has been given an amazing Thomas the Tank Engine bed and he absolutely needed a Thomas quilt. His quilt is made from a jelly roll, which makes it super easy and quick. I loved putting the different strips together  to make a colourful quilt for my little Teddy. Q P  by Rhonda

Little Boy Blue

Image
Hello Dear Friends Here is my latest quilt for a darling little baby boy. Congratulations. This is a very simple quilt but the fabrics bring it to life. The little boats are so darling - I fell in love with them.  The blue and white stripe fabric is the accent wall colour of the baby's room. The white squares are embellished with spots and the white board with stripes. Q P by Rhonda

All Sorts of Bags

Hello Dear Friends   I know it's been a while - I've been busy making tote bags, glasses cases, crossbody bags and zippered pouches. Oh yes, and travelling to the U S and Canada visiting wonderful friends and having marvellous experiences.   Meeting friends. New experiences. Q P  by Rhonda

Heartstrings Baby Quilt

Image
My Dear Friends I was asked to make a baby quilt in neutral tones. After commencing this quilt I found out that the new baby is to be a girl, so I added a touch of pink in the border. This quilt is made with 2 jelly rolls, although you could just cut fabric to the measurements. This was a really fun quilt to make. Next time I would like to make it in brighter colours. This is my last post for 2023. I wish you all a blessed Christmas, filled with love, peace and joy. Q P  by Rhonda

How to Make a Post and Rail Baby Quilt

Image
Hello Dear Friends I have just finished and delivered my latest baby quilt. It's the same pattern as the last one but this one has a strawberries and cream vibe. I used a jelly roll - strips are already cut and ready to be curated to form the blocks. Sew three strips together and iron the seams to the dark side (rather than ironing flat). Trim the sewn strips to make a square. Sew blocks together to form your design, ie horizontal then vertical, then horizontal etc. Cut the borders and sew onto the quilt top. Make your quilt sandwich, ensure that you have an excess of wadding and backing on all sides. These will be trimmed after quilting. Quilt your quilt top. Cut your 2.5" strips for the binding. Sew each length together as in the photo. Trim the seam, as shown. Sew the border onto the quilt top. Finished! One Post and Rail baby quilt. Q P  by Rhonda

Hello Posy

Image
Hello my dear friends I'm feeling so good that my latest quilt is finished and is now in its new home. I made this Hello Posy lap quilt for one of my beautiful daughters in law. Their home is so stylish and decorated in neutral tones. Alex picked her fabrics and I am very happy with the finished product. The Symbolism of Quilting " Q uilts and quilting are used to convey certain themes of self expression, union of opposite values or people, the formation of close bonds among women and kin, heritage, history, family, comfort, love and commitment."
