How to Make a Hello Posy Quilt

Hello dear friends,

I found this quilt on Southern Charm Quilts and loved it. I am making it for my daughter-in-law. She chose the fabric palette. You might remember this photo from my last post, Choosing Your Fabric.


After cutting out all the pieces of fabric for each block, I could start sewing.


Sew what will be the centre diamond onto each larger square.

Do the same for the 4 squares.

Trim the corners and iron back, making a square again.


Sew 4 squares together, forming the diamond in the centre.


Add opposite borders.


Sew on the other 2 opposite borders and the block is complete.


I now have 9 blocks.

Well hello friends and welcome to my first official post. So, how did it all begin, you might ask.  Three years ago I was visiting my friend in Queensland and was admiring a quilt that she was making.  I was certain that I couldn't do anything like it.  (My last try was years ago when the children were small -  it was dismal!)   Hello dear friends, To start off the new year I thought that I would ask some quilter friends to contribute to my blog, quiltingpleasure.blogspot.com   Each week I will feature a new quilter and gorgeous quilts. Elizabeth Gliske Bulow

  Hello dear friends, Elizabeth Gliske Bulow is my next quilter extraordinaire.  I met Elizabeth through a Facebook Group called Lo & Behold Patterns.  I asked if anyone would like to be a quilting pen pal with me.  I received lots of replies and I now have a core group of ladies who have become my very special friends.  They tell me about the USA and Canada and I tell them about Australia.  It is so interesting learning about their cultures and traditions.  We love chatting about our quilts that we are working on and I feel very blessed to call these amazing women my friends.
