How cute is this!  Scribbly Gum Quilt Co has had this card designed to go with all their parcels.  It's so exciting to receive a fabric parcel in the mail.  When choosing over the internet it's a bit of luck - but they certainly didn't disappoint.  The fabrics are darling.  Thank you Jodie from Scribbly Gum.

                              Jelly roll patterns can be very simple or a little more complex.                                                 
This is a lovely way to display your precious quilts.

Well hello friends and welcome to my first official post. So, how did it all begin, you might ask.  Three years ago I was visiting my friend in Queensland and was admiring a quilt that she was making.  I was certain that I couldn't do anything like it.  (My last try was years ago when the children were small -  it was dismal!) The creative juices had been stirred and I felt a longing to try again.  Where did I start looking for help?  YouTube of course.  I googled "How to make an easy patchwork quilt".  I realised that I could stop the video, rewind and watch again - as many times as I needed.  YouTube wasn't around 20 odd years prior.  Maybe, just maybe this was the tool that I needed.  I am a visual learner and I have to be shown step by step.   Hello dear friends, To start off the new year I thought that I would ask some quilter friends to contribute to my blog, quiltingpleasure.blogspot.com   Each week I will feature a new quilter and gorgeous quilts. These ladies are amazing and most have been quilting far longer than I have and are much more knowledgeable than me.  I am in awe of their creations and I wanted to share them with you. The first quilter extraordinaire is Mrs Alycia Lacey of "Pine View".  Our daughter has spent the last 2 years as a governess on their sheep station.  The women of the outback are truly amazing and their strength of character is inspiring.   Hello dear friends, Elizabeth Gliske Bulow is my next quilter extraordinaire.  I met Elizabeth through a Facebook Group called Lo & Behold Patterns.  I asked if anyone would like to be a quilting pen pal with me.  I received lots of replies and I now have a core group of ladies who have become my very special friends.  They tell me about the USA and Canada and I tell them about Australia.  It is so interesting learning about their cultures and traditions.  We love chatting about our quilts that we are working on and I feel very blessed to call these amazing women my friends.
