WHAT ARE LAYER CAKES?

Hello friends,

So today let's look at Layer Cakes - they are pre-cut fabric.  They are a curated bundle of   10" x 10" squares, featuring an array of coordinating fabric from a designer's collection.  Layer cakes are beautiful.

Here is an example of a pack, called Painterly Petals by Ten Square. I wanted to use really bright colours as I want to make another version of the Pins & Paws Quilt by Missouri Star Quilt Co.

    

Here are two quilts that I have made using layer cakes.


Layer cakes are wonderful for making large quilts.

Little Boy Blue

  Hello Dear Friends Here is my latest quilt for a darling little baby boy. Congratulations. This is a very simple quilt but the fabrics bring it to life. The little boats are so darling - I fell in love with them.  The blue and white stripe fabric is the accent wall colour of the baby's room. Thomas the Tank Engine for Theodore

Hello Dear Friends Theodore has been given an amazing Thomas the Tank Engine bed and he absolutely needed a Thomas quilt. His quilt is made from a jelly roll, which makes it super easy and quick.
