WHAT ARE CHARM PACKS?

So today I would like to talk about Charm Packs.

Charm Packs are pre-cut fabric.  They are a curated bundle of 5" x 5" squares, featuring an array of coordinating fabric from a designer's collection.

Here is an example of a pack, called Petal Power by Me & My Sister Designs Moda.  I wanted to use really bright colours.

                                                 
With this pack I am going to make the Pins & Paws Quilt by Missouri Star Quilt Co.  It is a cat silhouetted on a dark or light background.  On the Missouri Star Quilt Co. website they have 3 different tutorials - all are gorgeous, just slightly different size blocks and techniques.  You can also download a digital pattern (it is on special at the moment, but just remember it is in US dollars).

Well hello friends and welcome to my first official post. So, how did it all begin, you might ask.  Three years ago I was visiting my friend in Queensland and was admiring a quilt that she was making.  I was certain that I couldn't do anything like it.  (My last try was years ago when the children were small -  it was dismal!) Alycia Lacey - Christmas Quilt

  Hello dear friends, To start off the new year I thought that I would ask some quilter friends to contribute to my blog, quiltingpleasure.blogspot.com   Each week I will feature a new quilter and gorgeous quilts. The first quilter extraordinaire is Mrs Alycia Lacey of "Pine View".  Our daughter has spent the last 2 years as a governess on their sheep station.  The women of the outback are truly amazing and their strength of character is inspiring. Elizabeth Gliske Bulow

  Hello dear friends, Elizabeth Gliske Bulow is my next quilter extraordinaire.  I met Elizabeth through a Facebook Group called Lo & Behold Patterns.  I asked if anyone would like to be a quilting pen pal with me.  I received lots of replies and I now have a core group of ladies who have become my very special friends.  They tell me about the USA and Canada and I tell them about Australia.  It is so interesting learning about their cultures and traditions.  We love chatting about our quilts that we are working on and I feel very blessed to call these amazing women my friends. Elizabeth is a wife and mother of 3 beautiful little girls.  I don't know how she has the time or energy to make her stunning quilts.  Elizabeth's family live in a home that reminds me of The Little House on the Prairie in such magnificent countryside!
